Ella Fitzgerald was inducted into the inaugural Apollo Legends Walk of Fame in 2006. In 1934 Ella performed for the first time at The Apollo, becoming the first winner ever of the Amateur Night competition!

Etta James was inducted into The Apollo’s Walk of Fame in 2012. With ballads such as “At Last” and “Trust in Me,” James’ versatile style included blues, soul, jazz, R&B, and rock.

James Brown ‘The Godfather of Soul’ was inducted into The Apollo’s Walk of Fame in 2007. He holds the record for the most performances at the theater having appeared at The Apollo over 200 times.

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson was inducted into The Apollo’s Walk of Fame in 2010 during The Apollo’s 75th anniversary. At nine years old, his first Apollo appearance was at Amateur Night with The Jackson 5. Jackson would later become one of the greatest entertainers of our time.

Richard Pryor

Richard Pryor was inducted into The Apollo’s Walk of Fame in 2015. This year non-musical artists were honored for the first time and the Apollo launched a new comedy series.

In 2016 Prince was inducted into The Apollo’s Walk of Fame. He held a special press conference at The Apollo in 2010 announcing his ‘Welcome 2 America tour to begin on a purple day in December.

*Please Note: Seat purchasers cannot be guaranteed seating in the locations bearing their inscriptions when they attend productions. Wording of the seat inscriptions is subject to length limitations and approval by The Apollo.
