School Day Live: Creative Outlet

Two dancers of Creative Outlet moving in unison on stage.

The Apollo presents School Day Live, a program that brings the “Apollo Experience” to a new generation of theatergoers while providing an excellent opportunity to learn about the arts, history, and culture.

Celebrate Black history and innovation with Apollo Education’s  School Day Live: Creative Outlet. In this School Day Live performance, designed for grades 5 – 12, Creative Outlet’s Artistic Director and choreographer Jamel Gaines and company will lead students on a journey through movement across the civil rights movement of the 1960s. Commemorate the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama and the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom where Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech — all through a dynamic dance performance on The Apollo’s legendary stage.
