Keke Palmer thought she knew who she was. What it means to be a good person and what it takes to be a success. Keke Palmer is an Emmy award-winning actress, singer/songwriter, producer, author, television host, and passionate voice of the millennial generation. She rose to prominence through her breakout role in Akeelah and the Bee at age 12 starring opposite Angela Bassett and Lawrence Fishburne and has gone on to star in over 25 films and 30 TV shows including the iconic True Jackson, VP. Most recently, Keke starred in Jordan Peele’s Universal summer blockbuster, Nope, and hosted NBC's reboot of Password with Jimmy Fallon, which had the most-watched new unscripted series premiere of the summer across the broadcast networks. She is the CEO of both KeyTV—a digital network dedicated to spotlighting a new generation of diverse creators and democratizing the entertainment industry—and the record label Big Bosses Entertainment. Strahan also headlined the Thursday Night Football Pregame Show live on the Fox Broadcast Network. Strahan is the co-founder of SMAC Entertainment, a multi-dimensional talent management, music, branding, and production company which has created a major presence in the sports and entertainment arena. For four years, Strahan co-hosted the hit talk show LIVE with Kelly and Michael, and prior to joining the ranks of the top sports broadcasters in the country, Strahan had a spectacular NFL career that resulted in him being named to the 2014 Pro Football Hall of Fame class. The Story of Florence Mills by Renee Watson, is an electro-acoustic story experience, presented by sound scientist and imaginationist LaFrae Sci. Born to formerly enslaved parents, Florence Mills discovered early on that her light, birdlike voice captivated audiences. Her talent carried her to 1920s Broadway, where she inspired writers and performers alike. Despite her fame, she witnessed the impact of prejudice and used her platform to uplift Black artists and advocate for civil rights. Harlem’s Little Blackbird tells her inspiring story of justice, equality, and following one’s dreams.
Celebrate Women’s History Month with The Apollo and Harlem-based film collective Melanin Madness. After a sold-out 2025 Halloween-themed screening, we’re running it back, this time for the ladies.
