
The Apollo continues its commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina with a moving screening and talkback of Netflix’s gripping and emotional documentary, Katrina: Come Hell and High Water. This gripping documentary revisits the hurricane that caused 1,392 fatalities and more than $100 billion in damages in 2005. Detailed, harrowing and triumphant first-person accounts and never before seen archive illustrate the magnitude of Katrina, the aftermath of the levees breaking and the bungled recovery efforts. The people of New Orleans recount their past, extoll their present and lean into the future of what they and their beloved city survived and have become 20 years later.
Following the screening, stay for a talkback with the series’ Executive Producer Alisa Payne and Sam Pollard, and Director Samantha Knowles.

Four wheelchair seating locations will be reserved until the day of each performance.Each seating level is accessible via the elevator inside The Apollo’s Historic Theater. Guests should be aware of the small steps leading toward the Mezzanine and Balcony seating levels. Depending on the guest’s ticket location for these two levels, additional walking may be required. If guests are not able to travel up and down steps, tickets for events should be purchased for the Orchestra level.
