Overview
The Apollo’s Education Department engages audiences of all ages through a variety of programs and events. These include workshops and residencies, school tours, seminars, curriculum materials, and online engagement for K-12 and adult audiences. These also include career development programs for high school students through the Apollo Theater Academy. Our programs and events amplify Black history, arts, and culture. We pave the way for the next generation of noteworthy art makers, technicians, curators, and supporters.
Live Wire
A series of free, curated events, Apollo Live Wire explores themes relevant to The Apollo’s history. The series brings together a host of individuals with a diverse range of expertise to ignite dialogue around various topics.

Professional Learning
Professional Learning workshops provide K-12 educators with resources and hands-on activities to connect the arts to classroom subject areas. Workshops focus on such topics as The Apollo and Harlem and the contributions of peoples of the African diaspora to global culture through the arts. The Apollo is a NYS State-approved provider for Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) credits.
