Known as one of New York’s most popular live entertainment experiences, Amateur Night at The Apollo attracts performers and audiences from around the world in a classic talent competition that has launched the careers of countless legendary artists, from Ella Fitzgerald, Luther Vandross, Lauryn Hill, H.E.R, Machine Gun Kelly. and Jazmine Sullivan.

Brother to Brother: Film Screening & Talkback
Join the Apollo for a screening of Brother to Brother, a film that bridges generations through storytelling, art, and identity. This drama revisits the Harlem Renaissance through the eyes of an elderly Black writer who befriends a gay teenager in a New York City homeless shelter. It’s a deeply moving portrait of what it means to be young, Black, queer and searching for belonging.
Following the film stay for a talkback with filmmaker Rodney Evans and curator williambryantmiles.

Winners from the Semi-Finals return in this final competition for the title of Child Star of Tomorrow earning $5,000 while the Grand Finale winner receives $20,000. A Legacy of Culture
The Apollo is an American cultural treasure. It is a vibrant non-profit organization rooted in the Harlem community that engages people from around New York, the nation, and the world. Since 1934, The Apollo has celebrated, created, and presented work that centers Black artists and voices from across the African Diaspora. It has also been a catalyst for social and civic advocacy. Today, The Apollo is the largest performing arts institution committed to Black culture and creativity.
The Apollo is an American and global cultural and creative catalyst, dedicated to amplifying Black artistic excellence, innovation, and community through transformative performances, education, and advocacy.
The Apollo envisions a new American canon centered on contributions to the performing arts by artists of the African diaspora, in America and beyond.
The Apollo is led by a predominantly Black and women-led executive team, steered by Michelle Ebanks, the organization’s President and CEO. She succeeded Jonelle Procope, who helmed The Apollo for nearly two decades.
