Austin Paul, Jr.

Austin Paul, Jr. is a young saxophonist and former winner of the Apollo Stars of Tomorrow segment at Amateur Night at the Apollo.  He first began playing the saxophone when he joined his school's third grade band.

A few years later, he auditioned for Amateur Night and quickly rose through the levels of the show – wowing audiences at each step until he reached the final platform, Super Top Dog.  Austin Paul is a great admirer of jazz greats like John Coltrane, Charlie Parker,  Grover Washington, Jr. and Kirk Whalum.

These days, you will find Austin balancing his high school responsibilities with his many musical commitments.  He is also working hard to get a scholarship to Berklee College of Music.  Austin says, “After college, I plan to play gigs all across the world.”
