ABOUT EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Education programs extend the Apollo Theater Foundation's commitment to further its mission as a community resource. Through a variety of programs designed to engage children, adults, schools, families, artists and community-based organizations the education activities build on the Apollo's rich history as a cultural and economic anchor to the greater Harlem community.

SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Through School Partnerships, the Apollo has established relationships with several New York City public schools through a variety of programs focused on the Apollo Theater and Harlem within the context of American history, arts and culture. Historic Tours offer educational experiences that illuminate the history of Harlem through the lens of the Apollo, its legendary accomplishments, its role in the community and American history - particularly as it relates to 20th and 21st century music and the many historical figures that have crossed the Theater's threshold and performed on its stage. A companion Study Guide is available for use as a pre or post tour resource.
