Poet, MC, filmmaker, graphic artist, Pittsburgh Steelers fanatic and cookie aficionado are just some of the ways to describe nineteen year old Ishmael “Ish” Islam. He is a native of Brooklyn and a proud spoken word artist. Ish has most recently created a one man show entitled The Self-Spell under the partnership of Urban Word NYC and Dance Theater Workshop. Ish hopes that his voice is enough to persuade the Apollo audience to make him the first place winner at Amateur Night.
