Dawen

Dawen is a singer and songwriter who comes to the Apollo by way of Los Angeles.  He is a soul singer who likes to fuse jazz and smooth R&B.  Dawen is inspired by the music styling of Sade and Maxwell.  He has collaborated with several artists including Grammy Award-winning singer and actress Macy Gray and slam poet Beau Sia.   For his debut album American Me, Dawen covers everything from identity and social issues, to love, loss and redemption.  Will Dawen become the next Apollo legend?
