In celebration of Women's History Month, the Apollo Theater's Education Program in collaboration with the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, and New York Women in Film & Television present a panel discussion featuring women who work behind the scenes in film, television, and theatre in New York City. The discussion will be moderated by Nancy Giles, a contributor for CBS “Sunday News Sunday Morning.” Panelists include Nicole Franklin, stage manager for "The Today Show" and editor of NBC's "Nightly News"; Amy Sewell, producer of Mad Hot Ballroom and director of What's Your Point, Honey?; Winsome Sinclair, casting director for Malcolm X, Inside Man and Precious; Michele Steckler, senior vice president/senior producer, Disney Theatrical Group; and Pat Weber Sones, Location Manager, “Lipstick Jungle”. The panel is free and open to the public, and will take place at the Apollo Theater.

Urban Word NYC presents the Annual NYC Teen Poetry Grand Slam Final! Young poets from all areas of the boroughs will use their powerful voices to move ahead in this poetry competition. When the dust settles, only five teens will be selected to form this year's NYC Teen Poetry Slam Team and get an all expenses paid trip to compete at Brave New Voices National Teen Poetry Slam in Los Angeles, California.
