The Soil is a rare find — trendy, up-and-comers, who specialize in an ancient musical form.  Known for their heavenly acapella sound, this Soweto trio dispenses melodic medication through soulful anthems, delivered with lush, three-part harmonies and percussive beat boxing.  

Apollo Music Café explores music genres from the Apollo’s heritage – R&B, hip hop, soul, jazz, pop, funk, and rock – transformed by cutting-edge artists in a stylized lounge space.

This Apollo Music Café performance is a part of the weekend-long Africa Now! festival presented in partnership with the World Music Institute.

Other activities throughout the weekend include a Meet-the-Artist panel, a Family Showtime series performance by Freshlyground and a blowout concert event on the legendary Apollo stage hosted by celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson.

Drinks and food are also available for purchase one hour before show time.
