The Apollo Theater’s Harlem Healthy Soul Festival is a new community initiative focused on family health and wellness. Sponsored by Coca-Cola, this daylong, free event will take place on Saturday, June 1st beginning at 12 noon and will transform 126th Street, behind the Apollo, into a block party filled with health advice, educational resources, music, entertainment, celebrity performances, and family fun for the community.

Community members are invited to come out and enjoy nutrition-focused cooking demonstrations, exercise modules, a Men and Women’s Health Pavilion, Kid’s World Pavilion, and a Healthy “Soul” Food Pavilion. Additionally, EmblemHealth and Manhattan’s Physician Group will provide free health screenings.

The Celebrity Hot Spot features appearances by Tichina Arnold (Martin, Everybody Hates Chris, Happily Divorced) Tamara Tunie  (Flight, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, ), and Lamman Rucker (Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns, Why Did I Get Married) as well as R&B/Soul singer Noel Gourdin.

WBLS's Dr. Bob Lee will serve as the Apollo’s host for the Festival and WBLS personalities Liz Black and Jeff Foxx are also scheduled to appear.

The Harlem Healthy Soul Festival is a part of the Apollo Theater’s longstanding partnership with Coca-Cola, that supports many of the Theater’s major programs including education and community programs and its long-running signature show, Amateur Night at the Apollo.
