Amateur Night at the Apollo, February 1, 2012. Jennifer Holliday is a native of Riverside, Texas. This legendary singer, Tony Award-winning actress and icon began her career on Broadway in the musical Dreamgirls. She later became a successful recording artist whose string of chart-topping albums includes Feel My Soul, Get Close To My Love and I’m On Your Side.

Jennifer is best known for her debut single, the Dreamgirls showstopper and Grammy Award-winning R&B/Pop hit, "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going.” Because of Holliday’s passionate and powerful vocals, the song moved from the Broadway stage to international airwaves and became a global classic that only a few are able to sing.

On Wednesday, February 1, Jennifer Holliday rings in the new season of Amateur Night at the Apollo.

Breakin' Convention

It's a hip hop takeover at the Apollo June 13-16 as 100 dancers from around the globe gather onstage, under the marquee, all through the building during a jam-packed 4-day weekend of hip hop dance theater shows, DJ's spinning, live graffiti art, film clips and special tributes to hip hop dance icons, family workshops and free events.
