Terrell Howard

Apollo Music Cafe, April 4, 2011.  Terrell Howard is a 24-year-old singer/songwriter from Flatbush, Brooklyn New York, who began crafting his art at an early age. He attended the Professional Performing Arts High School in NYC, while simultaneously receiving vocal training at the prestigious Juilliard School. Upon graduation from high school, Howard was accepted to the highly-competitive, Berklee College of Music.

In 2003, Terrell Howard took a leap of faith when he declined the offer to attend Berklee, instead signing a major label recording contract with Arista Records. However, within a year, Howard was released from Arista with a slew of other artists due to the merger between Arista and BMG. Not one to be deterred from his dream, Howard decided to continue his foray into the music industry as a songwriter, while developing his own talent to pursue another recording contract. His songwriting ingenuity has landed him opportunities with R&B superstars, Usher Raymond, Slim of 112 and more.
His smooth vocal skills and artistry gained the likes of Missy Elliot, along with the songwriting collective, The Clutch (Keri Hilson is a member), songwriter Sean “The Pen” Garrett (Beyonce, Mario et. al.), and the late Shakir Stewart, former VP of Def Jam recordings. Howard is currently working on his album with the Atlanta based production team, Tha CornaBoyz, under their imprint, CBZ Music Group.
